March 9- Psalm 5 Trust in God for deliverance from Enemies

Today I am continuing on my Psalm readings, with Psalm 5.

Psalm 5
1Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
5The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
7But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Noticed in this Psalm that David said that "you hear my voice in the morning", meaning that he's talking to God before he does anything else. And that David, knew that only through God's love is he worthy of being with God.

Lord, I am so greatful that you hear our cries and our prayers. I thank you that I do not have enemies like David had, that were after his blood, however, still protect me from enemies that have no truth in thier mouths. Protect me and my heart from harsh words this week, let me lean and grow on you Lord, and your "abundance of your steadfast love." Lord, please be with Gus today, protect him and give him peace in his activites supporting our country in Iraq. Please be with the congergation and family of the pastor who was killed this weekend, Lord we don't understand, but show us your glory in this story, let his life be coninuted to be used by you. Lord, guide David and Jered's hands as they repair Mark's car today, let them be quick and effiecent, so that they can enjoy the afternoon off. Lord, heal my foot, that it will be only brusied and that I can walk on it normally tomorrow. I praise you that you hear my cries in the morning, in Jesus's name, Amen.
